19 Nov Let’s Talk About Penis
The Phallic Brotherhood brings new wisdom into my life.
Or it just puts concise words to the kind of sex I enjoy having. Either way.
I feel like I’ve been saying “yeah, but I’m not gay like you’re gay,” my whole life, without ever being able to explain it better than that. And then just this week, I came across this beautiful post from one of my favorite tumblrs, The Phallic Brotherhood:
Now none of this is meant as a ‘better than‘ or ‘superior to‘ notion on how other people think about gay sex or sex in general. But this is a super accurate, succinct explaining of what is in my head when I am naked with another man. And what allows me to have sexplay with my friends without emotional consequence. Because it isn’t about monogamy or possession or holding a preferred place within the emotional relationships they have with others. It’s about respect and worship (which sounds like a big word for this, but it’s apt) of my brother. Of recognizing our sameness and being together in a way that only two men can be. Without the heteronormative role play of passive and aggressive or top and bottom (really = male and female role play). I’ve never found the common ground with so many men (gay, straight, bi, whatever) that penis pleasure provides.
It’s why I like masturbation and talk about it as much as I do; it’s an equalizer. The sameness of mutual penis masturbation levels men without needing to reinforce which one is “the man” and which is “the woman.” In fact, when I jack off at home, what I usually watch is other men enjoying their penises. It’s almost never “sex,” the way most people think of it, especially penetrative sex.
If you’ve ever been enticed by this idea, or bored with PORN when you jack off, I’m posting here an incredibly thorough list of penis-focused tumblrs for you to explore. Some of these guys are masturbators, some are into group jacks, some describe themselves as solosexuals (a favorite term of mine, and what I would likely be if I didn’t like kissing my brothers so much) but they’re all totally penis-focused and into celebrating what men are. I recommend starting at the top and working your way down:
Love your penises, and love the penises of your brothers. Tell me about your ‘bate in the comments.
